I had a really good Mother's Day. We went out to eat at Olive Garden in El Paso on Saturday night and stayed at the Hyatt Place Hotel that night before coming back home on Sunday. I am so thankful that Griffin is my son. It is an honor to be his mother.
Hotel Paisano in Marfa, TX. I took these pictures from our balcony on the second floor. They had a really beautiful fountain in the center of the courtyard. A forgot to take a picture of it for some reason.
We stayed at the Hotel Paisano in Marfa, TX. Marfa, TX is where the movie "Giant" was filmed many years ago. You know the one with James Dean in it. The hotel is really old and was very pretty. They had an indoor pool so Brett & Griffin went for a swim.
We made a trip to Texas this past weekend. We went to Marfa, Presidio and Alpine. We went through the Big Bend State Park after leaving Presidio on our way to Alpine. It was a beautiful sight. Everything is just now turning green and the flowers were blooming. We stopped at the Contrabando Movie Set along the way and took some pictures. It was a very hot day with temperatures going over 100 degrees. We may be moving to Alpine, TX in the near future so of course I had to go check it out.
We went to the park today. It's the first time Griffin's gotten to go since he was sick. The first time was the ear infection, and he had the rotavirus for a few days the last week of April. I took him to the doctor on 4-30-08. They took stool samples and that's what they found. He was pretty much over it by 5-1-08. He didn't have a very bad case of it. The doctor said that two of his patients had already been hospitalized for it and that it was definitely going around. Griffin was lucky. He had diarrhea for three days. I gave him only pedialyte from the first day it started. We have been lucky that Griffin was very healthy pretty much the first year of his life. Now he's starting to get everything!!!! I guess he's making up for lost time. He had lots of fun at the park today.
